My story, my journey as a photographer... (Part Three, Last Part!)
I owned 2 lenses when first time using A230 DSLR. The Kitlens (18-55mm) and the Silver Zoom Lens (28-80mm). Bought all of this a months before wedding jobs started. By the way, I actually works with my uncle in weddings job.
Kitlens ~ 18-55mm
Zoom Lens ~ 28-80mm
Just a weeks before my first wedding job using this DSLR (Siti & Umar weddings), I bought Minolta 3500xi Flash for a better light source indoor shooting. Later I was attend the photography class by BeLaLanG Creative Photography Group at Clearwater Sanctuary Resort for 2 days. I've learned a lot to settings manually on cameras after attending the class. Before this, I only using Program Auto settings.
And nowadays, I only using Manual settings all the time. Also with the manual lens 28-200mm and 58mm f/2. That's all my journey! Thanks for viewing!

Tips of the Day: What is Shutter Speed?
Shutter speed is the amount of time that the shutter is open.
In film photography it was the length of time that the film was exposed to the scene you’re photographing and similarly in digital photography shutter speed is the length of time that your image sensor ’sees’ the scene you’re attempting to capture.
Thanks to Mr.Google for this image.
Shutter speed is measure in seconds. The bigger the number, the faster the shutter close. For example, 1/4000 is faster than 1/50. It's usage is depends on whether and lights. If you are using speed lower than 1/60, you will need to use tripod if your hands shaking or some types of image stabilization like IS(Canon), SteadyShot(Sony), or VR(Nikon).
Shutter speed is depends on your type of composition where you want to take a long shot (eg. slow shutter speed light trails) or fast shot (eg. freeze motion, fast speed). Some cameras will give you slow shutter in low light due to small aperture lens (eg. f/4.5, f/5.3, f/6.7) and will force you to use flash or tripod to make the image stable.
Focal Length and Shutter Speed is another thing to consider when choosing shutter speed is the focal length of the lens you’re using. Longer focal lengths will accentuate the amount of camera shake you have and so you’ll need to choose a faster shutter speed (unless you have image stabilization in your lens or camera). The ‘rule’ of thumb to use with focal length in non image stabilized situations) is to choose a shutter speed with a denominator that is larger than the focal length of the lens. For example if you have a lens that is 50mm 1/60th is probably ok but if you have a 200mm lens you’ll probably want to shoot at around 1/250.

Emptying My Pocket.....again
Since 3 months I've been using A230, I thing I spent a lots of money just for the accessories and bla-bla-bla.. This months my pocket 'bocor' again after I spent some of my money for SIGMA 28-200mm 3.8-5.6.. Even this lens is cheap (RM220 only because only can use MF due to gear stripped)... By the way, I'am happy with what I'm spent on my money. Here some of sample shots by me today:
As sharp as razor the quality.. I love this lens very much. But the cons is, this lens can't use filter due to aspherical thread and glass. Haih.. No protection, so hard to take care of this lens. That's it for today.
Thanks for viewing my blog. Enjoy! :)

My story, my journey as a photographer... (Part Two)
(Part Two)
Canon Powershot S3IS started my journey as a newbie photographer. A lots of things I've learned on this camera including Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, and Exposure. This 6 megapixel S3IS captured stunning shots except the weaknesses of low-light performance. Using this camera, I've captured more than 15,000 pictures but only 1/3 of the pictures are usable. Well, it's hard to doing my job because the direct flash killed most of my low-light shots and it makes myself fed up to take a snap.
Here are some of my shots using my S3IS:
I've been using it for a year and 2 months before change to DSLR. Using my pocket money and some of profit from selling the computer hardware and accessories, finally I bought Sony Alpha a230 as my first DSLR. Nothing else to tell about my journey using S3IS.
TO BE CONTINUED. Stay tuned!

My story, my journey as a photographer... (Part One)
Long time no updates.
Oh yeah. I almost forgot to tell about myself. Lot of peoples said that I started my journey with DSLR. That's wrong. So, today I want to tell about my interest in photography since I was 12 years old.
(Part One of My Story)
On mid-year of 2003 (I was 9 that time), my father bought a new compact digital camera which that is the first time ever my father using digital camera. Before this, my father only uses 35mm film camera. Funny right? Haha. That time, nothing interest me but computer video games. When I was twelve, I started to thinking about my future. What do I interesting at? The questions solved when my father passed his Mustek GSmart D30 Digital Camera to me since he bought the Sony Handycam. Yeah! I've finally found my hobby!
Day after day, I explore almost a lots of things using this 'cute' camera. This 3 megapixels cameras captured an images as good as Holga 135BC camera.
and some of picture taken with this camera:
Yeah. I know it's ugly. Haha. I'm noob that time. No skills, no settings, and even the compose also OUT! But at the end of 2007, I was hoping to buy a new compact camera around mid of 2008. That's not happened in mid-year of 2008 because in August 2008 I was surprised with something that I didn't wish for.
END of Part One.

Tips of the Day: Rule of Thirds
The “Rule of Thirds” one of the first things that budding digital photographers learn about in classes on photography and rightly so as it is the basis for well balanced and interesting shots.
The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts. As follows.
As you’re taking an image you would have done this in your mind through your viewfinder or in the LCD display that you use to frame your shot.
With this grid in mind the ‘rule of thirds’ now identifies four important parts of the image that you should consider placing points of interest in as you frame your image.
Not only this – but it also gives you four ‘lines’ that are also useful positions for elements in your photo.
The theory is that if you place points of interest in the intersections or along the lines that your photo becomes more balanced and will enable a viewer of the image to interact with it more naturally. Studies have shown that when viewing images that people’s eyes usually go to one of the intersection points most naturally rather than the center of the shot – using the rule of thirds works with this natural way of viewing an image rather than working against it.
An Example:

Tips of the Day: How to change DSLR lens quickly?
In an event it is impossible to take the picture with the only lens. Sometimes we have to change it. For example, the wedding ceremony photo shoot session which some photographer like to take candid pictures of the people. It is imposible to take a candid pictures with short zoom lens or kitlens like 18-55mm, 28-80mm and 16-80mm. Except when you have the wide telephoto lens like: eg. 18-250mm, 28-200mm, and 28-300mm. To change the lens, you will need to follow this 4 simple steps:
1) Hold your camera in your left hand as shown in the upper left part of the top photo. Approach the lens as shown with your right hand open and the right forefinger extended a little.
2) As seen in upper right, when you close your hand around the lens, depress the lens release button with the left side of your right forefinger.
3) Moving onto lower left, rotate the lens clockwise (for Nikon, reverse for Canon & Sony) and let the forefinger slide along the still-depressed release button.
4) Finally, as seen at lower right, the lens slides smoothly off of the camera and leaves with your right hand.
Hope this helps! Thanks for viewing!
Yanie & Banie (27 March 2010)
What a shocking wedding job! A last minute call for this job which is started on Friday (26 March 2010) for Akad Nikah photoshoot. Very sporting couples, but that day the newlyweds and photographer all tired due to very hot weather. I'm only using 58mm f/2 and 70-300mm Telephoto for outdoor shooting. Enjoy the picture, stay tuned for more updates!
